About the Taterka Digital Library

General Information

The Taterka Digital Ophthalmology Library, which is supported in part by a generous donation in memory of Harvey Taterka, provides access to selected electronic resources in ophthalmology. The digital library is primarily designed for use by ophthalmology residents at New York University's School of Medicine.

The digital library consists of materials in immediately-available electronic format. Texts and other items from the Ehrman library's significant ophthalmology collection can be found in the library's online catalog, MedCat .

The site is still under construction and we welcome your feedback. Please send your comments to taterka_questions@library.med.nyu.edu.

Organization of Resources

The digital library is remotely accessible, from any computer. You do not have to be in the library or on-campus to access the digital library. From the digital library's homepage, you can link directly to ophthalmology journals, electronic books, Medline and other databases, and other ophthalmology resources.

From the home page, there are also links to:

  • Board Reviews - This is a list of resources that can be used to prepare for board exams.
  • Grand Rounds - A number of institutions have posted their grand rounds on-line. Most are in either slide or video format.
  • Patient Education Resources - These are ophthalmology resources that can be used for patient education (in English as well as other languages).
  • Case Studies - Case studies, which are usually based on real-life situations, provide examples of applying knowledge in a clinical setting.
